We invite all primary school teachers and parents teaching the "Earth and Space" topic on the upper KS2 national curriculum to use the resources we have desgined. We ask that all participants complete a short questionniare on the usefulness and effectiveness of the resources.

Purpose of Study

This project is investigating whether dance can be used as a tool to increase engagement with science learning in year 5 and 6 (upper KS2) students. With this project, the key questions we want to answer are, “How does the teaching of upper KS2 scientific ideas through dance impact on student engagement and learning?” and “Do teachers find this a useful way of teaching?”

Why have I been invited to take part?

All primary school teachers and home-schooling parents are welcome to participate in this project. We want to test these resources across different primary schools and with teachers with different levels of experience. We also want to test if this resource has the potential to support home schooling.

What will happen if I take part?

After completing the registration form these resources they will be emailed directly to you. We will follow up with an evaluation questionnaire at a later date, once you have had time to look at and use these resources. There is no obligation to use all the resources, you can choose which resources you use we but ask that you note this on the questionnaire.

How will my data be used?

We will use the registration data you provide to send you the resources. The data will enable us to gather specific information about where (location), by whom (newly qualified teacher, subject specialist etc.) and how you plan to use the resource (age group, part of PE or Science, or maybe as homework)

Your data will be used to contact you for feedback on the resources. Once analysed the collective responses may be published in a journal or relevant magazine article however no one individual will be identified.
